FOOD

so you know how when you go to a third world country you tend to lose weight. well i think i'm going to be gaining 200 pounds this trip. it is the best food i've ever had. my favorite was a cheese and chilli stew with rice and curried beef and daal. it was a spicier creamier indian food. the people here are quite hostile towards indians and nepalies because they are always trying to take their land. we had an very intelegent conversation today about rafeal nadal and roger federrer in which professor evans made the observation that federrer is team edward and rafa is team jacob... thats how tired and silly we have become and it is only our second day here. (i told him i wouldnt write about that but it was too good not to share.)

our tour guide is named sunam... so is everyother man in Bhutan. he's really funny and i cant't really understand what he is saying to us but thats alright i'm sure i'll get a hang of it. he tends to just talk professor evans and refer to me in the third perrson so today in the car prof. evans and i are going to oswitch spots so he has to talk to me. we'll see how this goes. we're going to a dzhong (sp?) today and on the way taking river samples and going on a nice hike.
1000 butter candles being burnt at a shrine we went to. we couldnt take pictures inside but a lama (i dont know how to spell that) and monks were chanting and playing drums and blowing horns.
the shrine courtyard
old ladies selling leaves that are used to wrap around a nut and then chewed, some people have red teeth from it.

The face that you can barely see is the Queen of Bhutan.
This is the princess of Bhutan, the person next to her is the Queen. She was on our flight and told us to enjoy our stay in Bhutan. We sat a row behind and on the other side of her.
